O Loureiro is located in the parish of Obre, in Noia. It is a small active holiday resort, with an appreciable orientation towards families and which also admits the presence of pets. Currently it has three independent studios, of modern design and functional aesthetics, which stand out especially because in their construction they have used the wood from the old mussel rafts of the mussel banks of the estuary, which in addition to being an extraordinary example of reuse, gives them a very attractive rustic appearance. The three studios were individually handcrafted, so each of them has a unique character with great personality. Their names (Roncadoira, Filgueira and Baia) reflect the names …

The "Vivir o marisqueo" experience, promoted by the Council of Outes, aims to get visitors involved in shellfish farming. This artisanal work has been carried out for centuries in a coastal area of unique beauty and environmental wealth. Visitors will also be able to taste the products extracted (cockles and clams) in local restaurants. The experience begins at the O Freixo Nautical Centre at 8:30 am. From its terrace we will see dozens of small boats leaving at the start of the day. At 9:30 a.m. we will start a tour to the shellfish gatherers' working places on foot and to the rest of the shellfish gatherers. Afterwards, we will watch the return of the boats and visit the fish market to wit…

This modern installation located in the historic centre of Porto do Son houses an ethnographic collection that brings us closer to both the professional and domestic spheres of the world of the sea. Old fishing gear, old photographs, oral stories, a well-kept, open-plan exhibition space and modern communication media (video loops and a 1960 documentary filmed in Porto do Son) speak of the experiences of the women and men of this coastline. The exhibition tour begins on the ground floor showing different fishing gear, and the difficulties of sailing in the past with the high cost of shipwrecks, particularly numerous on the coast of the Ría de Muros-Noia and recalling the Prestige catastrophe.…

An extraordinary location is one of the attractions of this enormous construction. Its operation took advantage of the movement of the tides thanks to its dam of more than 230 metres that accumulated the water from the high tide and when the floodgates were opened it activated the milling mechanisms. Built at the beginning of the 19th century, it was called Molino de Bazarra, after the name of its builder. It was restored in 1990 on the initiative of the municipality. It has two floors, with the water inlet on the lower floor and the machinery on the upper floor. At high tide, the water accumulated in the dike and, when the level had dropped, the floodgates were opened. In this way, the wate…

Its balconies, its galleries, its alleys and above all its arcades represent that seafaring identity perfectly preserved in Muros. They are its hallmark. These guided tours tell us about its history. Thanks to the work of a group of enthusiasts, dedicated for decades to collecting all kinds of elements related to the sea, Noia has one of the best museums of the marine environment in Galicia. Photographs and old rigging, models, shark jaws, bow masks, marine engines designed and manufactured in Noia itself, a nautical library, parts and fossils... The huge amount of pieces has forced the construction of a new building capable of housing them. Located in the same space as the previous one, on the seafront of Cadarso, it will soon see the light of day. The Mar de Noia Museum also develops an interesting cultural work, showing interest in traditional songs, poetry, narrative related to the s…
