El balandro más antiguo de Galicia nos permite descubrir la ría navegando como en los viejos tiempos.
El Joaquín Vieta es un balandro de cabotaje de dos palos y 18 metros de eslora construido entre los años 1915 y 1916 en los astilleros de carpintería de O Freixo.
The oldest sloop in Galicia allows us to discover the estuary sailing as in the old days.
The Joaquín Vieta is a two-masted 18-metre-long coastal sloop built between 1915 and 1916 in the O Freixo carpentry shipyard.
It is a classic image of the estuary, whose waters it sails while its crew shows us the peculiarities of seafaring life, the fishing gear, the different species and the legends of shipwrecks.
As a former cannery ship, the Vieta is involved in the RAID of Industrial Tourism of the Ria de Muros Noia, becoming the best ally to show visitors the productive capacities of the estuary and the stories of sawmills and carpentries that made this land famous.
Complemented by a glider descent from the Tambre Power Station to Pontenafonso, the TRIAL experience is very attractive for all ages, in addition to the possibility of holding gastronomic workshops on board.
The wind and tide conditions will guide us to one or another area of the estuary, but in any case the veteran Vieta will be the protagonist of an unforgettable day.
