La mejor fórmula para conocer de primera mano la actividad marisquera de la ría.

The “Vivir o marisqueo” experience, promoted by the Council of Outes, aims to get visitors involved in shellfish farming. This artisanal work has been carried out for centuries in a coastal area of unique beauty and environmental wealth. Visitors will also be able to taste the products extracted (cockles and clams) in local restaurants.

The experience begins at the O Freixo Nautical Centre at 8:30 am. From its terrace we will see dozens of small boats leaving at the start of the day.
At 9:30 a.m. we will start a tour to the shellfish gatherers’ working places on foot and to the rest of the shellfish gatherers. Afterwards, we will watch the return of the boats and visit the fish market to witness the process of unloading and classifying the shellfish.

From 13.00h onwards, visitors will be able to taste a menu, previously chosen and based on the shellfish extracted, in any of the council’s collaborating restaurants (Restaurante Ríos, Bar Berberecho, Restaurante Casa Peto, Restaurante Casa Zuleiro, Restaurante Pepe do Coxo, Restaurante Albatros and Restaurante Casa Amanda).
